CrashLens ("we", "our", or "us") operates the CrashLens vehicle inspection platform, available at crashlens.app and crashinspect.com, including the CrashLens Android app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information necessary to facilitate vehicle damage inspections:
Vehicle photos — images of vehicle exterior, interior, and damage areas captured during an inspection session.
Location data — GPS coordinates recorded at the time each photo is taken, to document where the inspection took place.
Vehicle identification data — VIN numbers and odometer readings captured via the device camera and OCR technology.
Account information — name and email address if you create a login account. Account creation is optional; inspections can be completed with a token link only.
Inspection tokens — unique identifiers generated per inspection session to link photos and data to the correct record.
Device and browser information — standard technical data (browser type, operating system) collected automatically when you access the platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
To complete and deliver vehicle inspection reports to the requesting party.
To verify vehicle identity and condition using AI-assisted image analysis.
To send inspection links and status notifications via SMS or email.
To improve the accuracy and reliability of our inspection tools.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform. Each has its own privacy policy:
Supabase — cloud database and file storage for inspection data and photos (supabase.com/privacy).
Google Cloud Vision API — optical character recognition for reading VIN numbers and odometer displays (policies.google.com/privacy).
Google Gemini — AI-powered analysis to assist inspection accuracy.
NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) — public VIN decoding API. No personal data is transmitted (nhtsa.gov/privacy-policy).
4. Data Storage and Retention
Inspection data, photos, and associated metadata are stored securely in Supabase cloud infrastructure. We retain data for as long as the inspection record is active or as required by the requesting organization. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
